Columbus, OH (September 4, 2014) – Young Gun chefs from seven local restaurants will join together to present Eat Up! Columbus, an evening culinary fete to benefit Freedom a la Cart – a social enterprise and workforce development program that aids and employs local survivors of human trafficking.
The culinary adventure will feature hors d’oeuvres and a seven-course tasting menu with drink pairings, on November 15, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. ET at St. Charles Preparatory School and will showcase some of the city’s trailblazing, young kitchen talent.
“It’s rewarding to use our creativity and passion for food as a means to give back to an organization that helps survivors of human trafficking turn their lives around,” explained Dustin Brafford, executive chef at The Crest Gastropub in Clintonville.
Brafford will lead the Eat Up! culinary team and will be joined in the kitchen by the following chefs:
- Chef Deborah Quinci, Freedom a la Cart
- Chef Miki Ashino and Eric Allen, Tokyo GoGo and Brothers Drake
- Chef Patrick Caskey, Skillet
- Chef Tom Kimura, Kihachi
- Chef Jessica Bryant, Pistacia Vera
- Chef Jullian Menaged, The Market Italian Village
“Eat Up! Columbus is a collaborative effort focused on sharing resources to benefit others, which is a value we strive to emulate daily as an organization,” said Keturah Schroeder, Managing Director of Freedom a la Cart. “We want to bring the community together to enjoy delicious local dishes and celebrate working together toward a mission, all while raising awareness and funds to fight human trafficking in Central Ohio.”
The November 15th event will begin with a cocktail hour and a silent auction starting at 6:00 p.m. ET. Tickets go on sale September 15, 2014 at EatUpColumbus.org for $150 each.
