If you have a business website or blog hosted on WordPress, plugins and widgets can each be major assets for lead generation. One of my favorite aspects of plugins and widgets, within WordPress, is that they can solve a problem or add a feature, without requiring the use of a web designer or programmer. Often, I’ve found myself searching generically within Google for something like, “Wordpress plugin for pinning images,” to be met with a plugin that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
Over time, I’ve come to rely on several plugins and widgets, so much so that I can forget they are additions to our site instead of a part of our site. They serve as a practical way to generate leads and drive traffic back to our site and blog.
3 WordPress Tools that Generate Leads for Your Site
So, today I want to share three of my favorite WordPress tools that I would gladly pay for (even though, thankfully, two of them are free) that I suggestion you review for your own site or blog.
1. Post Meta Video Widget to Embed Videos
Recently, we’ve started to share weekly videos through YouTube that feature tips, tools and resources from our team to you. One of the ways we repurpose these videos, is to feature them on our website. You’ll notice two video examples on the right-hand side of this post.
We showcase these videos using the ‘Post Meta Video Widget’, which is super easy to use because you don’t have to install it. Instead, just look for it in the widget section of your WordPress Dashboardand add it to the sidebar or footer of your choice. You can set videos to auto-play and add several videos at once. Cost: Free.
2. jQuery Pin It Button For Images
I actually first learned about the jQuery Pin It Button plugin on Pinterest. Case in point, this plugin is easy to use and perfect for driving traffic back to your site from Pinterest. Activate the plugin and you will see the images on your blog or website turn into mini traffic generators. Simply hover over any image, after installing the plugin, and a “Pin It” button will appear, giving you the option to add the image to your Pinterest account.
This plugin is fabulous because it links the pin back to your site and can be a great traffic generator. Cost: FREE.
3. Pippity Plugin for Popups
Pippity is a visually appealing and user-friendly pop-up generator that helps to keep your popups from looking and acting spammy. You can customize the layout, colors, fonts, and add an image to as well as set a timer for when it should appear and on which pages or posts. There are a lot of possibilities with this plugin. Cost: Visit the site for pricing or give it a test drive.
There you have it! Three plugins to add more lead generation opportunities to your site or blog. Do you currently use any of these plugins? Better yet, do you have a plugin you think we should be using for lead gen within our site and blog? Share your recommendations in the comments below or tweet me.
