Working remotely offers some wonderful perks – you get to work from the comfort of your own home, you don’t have to deal with a commute and you can wear whatever you want to work (unless you have video calls, in which case it’s a good idea to at least look professional from the waist up)! In general, working in a virtual office offers a lot more freedom than a traditional workspace. However, it also comes with its own unique set of challenges.
In today’s video, I cover a few best practices for working successfully from a virtual office. I’ll discuss how to overcome some of the main challenges that go along with working from home:
- Setting boundaries between work and home life
- Creating a schedule that works for you
- Taking time for human interaction
As with so many other things in life, the key is to find the right balance and structure that works for you. It takes some self-discipline and organization, but working virtually can be a fun, rewarding and productive alternative to the traditional office environment.
Have you ever worked in a virtual office or non-traditional workspace? What tips would you add to the ones I’ve shared?
