How is your Google+ doing? If you’re like most, you just said, “oh yeah” and quickly logged in to post and check the notifications. If you planned ahead, maybe you found a complicated way to sync your Google+  with updates from your other social channels. Either way, it may not be top of mind as your to-do list fills up for the day. That’s where today’s tool comes in…

Friends+Me

Friends+Me is a social media tool that helps you whip your Google+ account into shape. The easy navigation and scheduling, and array of social channels make this a handy tool to keep around.

Benefits

1.) Unlike Buffer and Hootsuite, Friends+Me supports Google+ profiles, pages, communities and connections. The big benefit here is profiles. It’s possible for your personal account to be scheduled out, and you deserve it!

2.) Friends+Me also has a Chrome extension. If you see an article you like, just click on the extension button and share.

3.) This social media tool’s big focus is Google+, but you can also schedule your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr and App.Net posts. If you decide to stick with Friends+Me, you can keep all of your social channels in one place.

4.) Have you ever thought that 140 characters was a bit too long for Twitter? Maybe you’ve noticed that after using all the characters,  there’s no space for a link, or for people to leave their own thoughts when reposting your content. Friends+Me has a setting that allows you to choose the length of your tweet. Scale back the length of your posts to easily allow for better sharing.

5.) Because Friends+Me reposts your Google+ content to your connected social channels, you have two options for sharing:

Mirror:

By selecting Mirror, your reposted content will include a link to whichever original article you shared. If your main focus is online interaction and content sharing, this is the way to go.

Grow:

When you need to grow your Google+ , choose this option. By selecting Grow, your reposted content will include a link to your original Google+ post.  This is perfect if you want to spread the word about your account.

Either of these options can be selected for each social channel, and can be changed at any time.

Pricing

Friends+Me has a free plan that allows for 1 account on each supported social network. If you want to test out the tool, or are only working on your personal channels, try this option out. Other options include:

  • Just+Me: For $9 per month, you can connect 10 accounts and invite 1 additional team member to schedule posts.
  • Business+: This plan is $29 per month, and allows you to connect 20 accounts. You can also invite 5 team members to schedule posts.
  • Agency+: The largest plan, Agency+ is $59 per month, and you can connect 60 accounts. 10 team members can collaborate on this account.

Plus or Minus?

Friends+Me is a great tool to keep around if you are interested in becoming more active on Google+. The ability to post to your profile (and not your page) is a welcome addition to the world of social scheduling. Try out the free version, and see if this social media tool is for you.
