Yes we’re virtual, but team Belle can’t be the only ones that are on the Google Drive bandwagon! If you are always looking for ways to be more productive, then welcome to the club, and see what’s new in Drive. There’s been a Toolkit Tuesday post on the tool before, but now there are updates that need to be shared!
Staying Driven
Google is an organization that needs no introduction. Their tools are easy-to-use and well-known, making them popular for everyday business use. So if you’re already using Google Drive, good news! These updates are here to make your life just a little easier, and hopefully you can shave some time off of your to-do list. See a list of our favorite updates below, and find a better way to power through your day!
1.) Perform A Search From Inside Your Google Doc
If you’re a smart, resourceful professional (and you are!), then you know that you don’t know everything- and that’s fine! Now when you’re working your way through a project, you can perform a Google search from right inside of a Google Doc. Plus, image search results will show images that have permission for reuse.
2.) Voice Typing
Who never wants to type again? *Raises hand* While Google hasn’t created a world without keyboards, we can at least take a break from typing in Google Docs. By selecting Voice Typing within your document, you can say what’s on your mind and the tool will transcribe your words (and supports almost 40 languages). Perfect for drafting a blog post or brainstorming.
3.) New Changes
If you like to stay in the loop, this update is for you. Google added a See New Changes option to Google Docs. The old option to view all revisions is still available, but now you have the ability to quickly see what’s been changed in a document since your last login.
4.) Templates for Docs, Sheets & Slides
Sometimes it seems like everything you type has its own formatting. Well, Google Drive has new templates to share within Docs, Sheets and Slides. A few examples of offerings include resumes, letters and meeting notes.
Dive Into Drive
This isn’t the full list of Google Drive updates, so the next time you’re in Drive take some time to explore and see how their changes can fit into your daily routine. Save yourself some time with templates, and give your fingers a break with voice typing!
