I have some exciting news to share with you today. Actually, this is the beginning of lots of exciting news! If you’re subscribed to our e-newsletter, you know that we will be hosting a week-long birthday party beginning Monday to celebrate our one-year anniversary. That’s right, it’s been a whole year since launching Belle Communications. And I am absolutely thrilled to share this milestone with you!
If you would have talked to me two years ago and told me that I was going to launch an integrated communications agency — I’m not sure I would have believed you 😉 So much has changed in such a short amount of time. I’m incredibly grateful and thankful. I’ve learned an abundance over the past year and I know the best is yet to come … but more on that next week because today I want you to meet a very special lady …
Meet Megan Hoying: Our New Media Coordinator
Everyone please say hello to Megan Hoying, who joins our team of all stars as a Media Coordinator. Megan has been interning with us over the past few months and is preparing to graduate from The Ohio State University with a degree in Strategic Communication and a minor in Professional Writing. This week in particular has been extra crazy for Megan because she’s wrapping up final projects, prepping for finals and balancing two internships. Needless to say, she knows how to hustle.
Megan is fun, positive and super smart! She has exceeded our expectations in her ability to learn quickly, adapt, bring new ideas to the table for clients and secure fabulous media coverage her very first week pitching media. (If you want to know the way to my PR heart, it’s to come out hitting!) Megan is also great at communicating expectations and closing the loop — two must haves for any member of our team.
Megan’s role will include curating social media and influencer-centric content for our clients and play a key role in media research and outreach, reporting and uncovering thriveable opportunities for all of our clients through event-based initiatives.
What Megan has to say: In my time so far at Belle, I’ve learned a lot – from pitching to media to staying organized and working collaboratively as part of a team. Working with Kate and the team is so valuable and such a great learning experience. I’m excited to continue growing as a professional and as part of the team — all while helping Belle grow at the same time!
Alright, on with your regularly scheduled programming! We’ll have more announcements, surprises and birthday presents next week … So fun!
Please take a moment to welcome Megan in the comments below and review our #THRIVEable Friday post … Happy Friday everyone!

There’s no one right way to start a successful business. Mistakes are common and should be expected in order to keep going. This post from Entrepreneur discusses six common mistakes people make when starting a business.
Plan for Time Off
Are you extending your weekend for the holiday or planning a vacation? While the thought of taking time off from work sounds relaxing, nothing will ruin your days away from the office like the thought of the mountain of things to do to catch up after you return. This article gives great tips for effectively planning your time off.
Tips and Tools to Empower Your Life
Does your company, client or brand use a specific hashtag on its social media posts? If so, you probably track that hashtag to see what kind of activity or use it’s been getting on social networking sites. Instead of searching each individual site, wouldn’t it be great to get all of those posts in one easy to read place? That’s where Tagboard comes in. You can search your specific hashtag and ta-da! Tagboard pulls all of the posts that contain that hashtag into one aggregated, easy to read place. You can also interact with the posts straight from your tagboard. Visually pleasing AND useful – how can we resist?
