Happy Friday!
Do you ever have tasks that seem to sneak up on you and all of the sudden – BOOM – they’re due? For me, this week, the pressure was on with the task of pitching.
Media relations is something that takes time, but fortunately, even though this task seemed to sneak up on me, I had already prepared for it by pitching early. So, I just had to follow up in order to secure opportunities for our clients. I even had the opportunity to experience the fruit of my labor and attend a radio interview on NPR with one of our clients!
The lesson learned this week? Prepare for the tasks you know have hard deadlines as far in advance as you can. That way, when they feel like they’re creeping up, you can face them more confidence.
How do you stay ahead of tasks before they’re due?
Alright, it’s almost time to head off to enjoy a beautiful weekend, but before you go, be sure to read this week’s #THRIVEable Friday roundup of articles, tips and tools. Check it out and get inspired to get ahead before the Fourth of July!

Tips and Tools to Empower Your Life
Does your mind tend to wander during meetings or lectures? Even though they may be important or interesting, I’ve found that my attention tends to waver if I’m not actively involved (or when I try to cut out caffeine from my diet. Again.). If this is you, or you simply don’t want to risk missing something in your next big meeting, the HT Professional Recorder app is for you. Use it to record and edit business meetings, interviews, lectures and more right from your smartphone. What’s nice about this app is that you can record even if you’re in a large room, and you can bookmark important moments to come back to later. Another cool feature? You can transfer recordings from your phone using your email!
